Very important question that may be up for a vote. In 2007, the cone is OFF by default. In league play, I'd imagine we can go 6 min. quarters but turn it ON if we choose.
So what's it gonna be? Cone ON or OFF in 2007?
Personally, I think we should play with the cone ON.

I truly hate how people follow it around. If the defense can not see it then fine, but if they can, I say keep it off then.

Tony, if people are following the cone, then set 'em up by switching off to another receiver and destroy them.

Yeah, I really hate the cone, mainly because I'm not very good at moving it around... Having said that, I'd vote for turning the cone ON. I think it is an added componet of the sim game, makes it more real. I am practicing on being able to control the cone to better my game too.

I think the cone is more sim too......without it, you can roll right and throw across field to the left and that's total horse-sh!t.
Also, without it, there's no precision passing - especially with the average to below-average QB's. Can't lead receivers on drags, slants, ins, outs, and corners.

How about those teams with fast safties...you can follow the cone around at will if you have good stick skills. Totally takes away the deep ball.

SAPML RULE XV VISION CONE: Must always be on. Publicly, I don't recall seeing where anyone has had a real issue with the vision cone the past two seasons. Even though by EA default, the cone is "off" online, that, I don't think, should raise a question of whether we have it on in the league. Now, if there has been a plethora of complaints to admin by members wanting the cone turned off, that is a different subject and maybe it should be debated. However, other than maybe some having a problem using it, I haven't seen a real issue raised. Anyway, this may be moot dialogue since there is no information that I have seen yet on the question of whether the defense is going to be able to see the cone as well. That message has been sent to EA loud and clear but as we seen in the past, EA doesn't always listen. At first, I hated it but then realized that, yes, it does lend a better "sim" feel to the game, not to mention that it is fun to go back and view tape and watch someone manually chasing the cone and wind up out completely out of the actual play. The rule is a good one. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. ;D

Yeah, just another reason to be able to "look off receivers" with your cone. Does make it difficult though for those teams with fast safeties and a good blitzing defense. Under a blitz U don't have the time to switch your cone but maybe twice...(or at least that's my skill set at the moment..)
