I played a lot of madden yesterday, and i dont know what it is, but when I encounter those guys that split thier D-line every play or split the line and pinch the LB's in especially..I cant run the ball at all. You'd think running straight up the gut would destroy this defensive tactic right? Afraid not. I've found all this does is confuse the crap out of the offensive line, and 9 out of 10 times a LB or lineman will not be blocked at all. Ive had 2 big run plays against this type of unrealistic D, and then mostly no yards or 1 or 2 if im lucky. Anyone else have the same problem, or am I missing something?

Try waiting for your C to point. Or look at Holden's suggestion.

Spread D-line messes up blocking assignments which makes the O-line have to go after the D-linemen causing huge gaps that the LB's can shoot through and get your RB almost everytime...
I sitll havn't been able to find a way to beat it... And with Priest Holmes... Believe me... I see it alot.

lol...
the thing is... It's just not the spreaded line... You still have to have the LB's and D-line running the right schemes... IE: If the LB's go back into a zone then they just got took out of the play and the RB can hit the middle and go for paydirt.

Quick, we need to hire someone to break his other hand ... This is Nancy Kerrigan all over again ...

did my suggestion help you Dawgs? Well, I haven't tried it yet, actually, but I thought it was a good counter for the Oline incapabilities.

Spreading the line helps cover more area against the run. If you spread the line and crash in, that stops run up the gut and also off the tackles. Running in this game in general is hard if you play someone who halfway knows what they're doing. Way I see it, if I make you one-dimensional and frustrate you enough to make you take offsides penalties until the game kicks you out, then I've done my job, right Broncos?
Just because you can't figure out how to beat something right away doesn't make it cheap. It is beatable, but it's difficult. Some games, you just can't run. Some games you can. Just the way it works, and you have to deal with it.
