I just read all the posts about this discussion and MAN that was a lot of reading, lol.
I think we should allow the manuel movement of an additional man. It being a specific man and that is the safety. The game either allows you to BNR them closer or in the box. No in between.
So, what we can do is allow the movement of a safety no more then 10 yards from where they begin. Or no closer then 15 yards from the LOS. When that safety is put in place then you can control another man on defense. Which if you want to move around will only be the other safety. Cause we cant move the LB's.
Corner routes are part of the game and by putting a set amount of times we use it becomes unenjoyable. I think if we allow the movement of another safety that can help. Thoughts?

Dawgs i like that idea. so what your saying is we can move the safety to the left or right 10 yds, not toward the line of scrimmage? if thats the case, i like that one. i guess well see what other people think.

On short yardage I stack the line with the safetys in an all out blitzes ... so is that wrong, I use it maybe twice a game ...

What I would like to see is that we can move either safety in any direction. Rule would be 10 yards from the origin of safety spot towards the LOS. Or the rule would be anywhere just as long as you are set up 15 yards off the LOS.

Well the current rule allows you to move the saftety anywhere, including right up to the line if you want. The issue is the movement of the second man...hmm...what does everyone else think.
As far as counting the corners. We put a limit of 10 on them, i dont see that as being too restricting. It would be relatively hard to run 10 corners in a game, especially if you are mixing up plays.

I think Dawgs' idea is pretty good, but allowing people to move a second defender manually could open up another can of worms...

The second defender to move can only be a safety. So you move one of the safeties into postion then take control of another defender. The only other defender you can move is the other safety.
Even if they blitz the other safety they will need to be off the LOS 15 yards OR 10 yards from the origin.

I just wanted to add an idea. With moving the guys it becomes more strategy then restriction.

Lets wait and see how the new rule does. If we still have problems later we may look into dawgs idea.
So far since the rule change, no corner complaints...i like it.

I was watching the Pats play yesterday and when Cory Dillon hit the line I thought it would be cool if he could pull out a purple smoke bomb, like the one the joker or the penguin would use on the old Batman TV show ... then out from the cloud you see Dillon still running ... now thats a cool idea, I think I'll email it to the NFL

Then people will just send a deep route with the slot wr to the middle of the field and the saftey won't be able to get back fast enough.

Well that's when some of the strategy comes in. JMO

actually dawgs has a point maybe you should be able to move def players anywhere just not to blitz or cant move them beyond 10 yards of los
