Confirmation that you and another player will be able to start a franchise, make trades in your franchise, then upload it to EAs servers and both can play each other with the modified rosters.

Wow thats very interesting. The only bad thing would be if you get guys that don't or won't finish the season that you start. Fasntasy football that you accually play the games...very interesting.

Yep, this was confirmed by one of the mods on MaddenMania who got the game early. He made a trade in his franchise, saved it to his EA locker and was able to go online with the new rosters.
But FORGET about doing this strictly on EA's servers. Week 1, let's say my Dolphins play the Broncos. Great. Now we finish, save it, and the NEXT 2 guys play the 2nd game scheduled for week 1. They save and so on. Week 1 could go on for a month, waiting for us to do our games in order. NIGHTMARE.
Better to get the week 1 rosters right, everyone saves the correct roster to their profile, and they play WHENEVER and post on leaguedaddy. Then, NEXT week after the rosters are all good (trades or not), you wait for the roster manager to SIM week 1 (after trades the new week 1 roster would be different from last week's week 1 roster) so that we all play week 2 games. So by week 13, the roster manager gets all the rosters right and sims the first 12 weeks so that we're all able to do week 13. Presumably, this is all simmed WITHOUT injuries.
Might be a headache. But a possibility for NEXT season.

Do we have to sim the games...why cant we just make changes to the rosters and have everyone draw from them?

Maybe it's just me, but I'm not sure we're all on the same page here!
Commish, exactly what did you have in mind using 32 teams?

We could have one person modify their "franchise" online...which would open up the possibility of trades and what not. And the rest of the league would use that persons modified rosters when playing their games...i may be missing the point here.

Lol, okay. Sorry. But when it comes to franchise mode, I know I'm not on the same page with you guys. I know nothing of franchise mode. Maybe I will try it again and see if I can get interested in it. I will try to learn from you guys. And never mind what I was thinking about! ;D

I don't know if this helps, Commish, but it could be a nightmare working with 32 members like Chuck was speaking of. The EA Locker allows users to share a variety of files ranging from rosters to franchises. The onus is on the users to coordinate the shared franchise. One user would have to start the franchise offline. Once online he can upload the franchise file to his EA locker. He then has to make the file public (simply by selecting the file and choosing "make public" from the locker action popup.) Once the file is available any user can download the file to their own memory card/harddisk and then pick-up where their buddy left off. The updated franchise file would then have to be uploaded again and the process repeated. In the instance that two user-controlled teams are set to play each other in the frarlchise, that game can be spawned and played online. Within the franchise there is an option to spawn the game and save it to the mem card/hard disk. This spawn game file then has to be uploaded to the EA locker and made public. Once the other user downloads the Spawn Game ption from the online Game Modes menu. As long as the two users have the same file saved to their mem cardlhard disk they will be matched up in the same way Quick Match connects two users. Once the online game is completed one user must save the spawn results. After the franchise is loaded offline the User will have the option to merge the spawn results back into the franchise. Clear as mud, huh?

yes, very unclear...
I was hoping to have one person make changes to the roster, then other people could download the roster and play games. I dont care about saving the stats or playing in franchise mode. It should be relatively simple to do what we want to do...
