i know im new but i seem to have een cheesed twice already. once i spoke to gladiator about already ,the second is this. now this is just me so if its not cheese then fine. 4th down,i was down by 3 he was on my side with the ball, about a yrd maybe less,he sets up for the punt and fakes it and gets it.GAME OVER also he went for it about 4 times on 4th during the game instead of fgs. grant it in real life they do do it and go for it but rarely do they do it almost every 4th and short. i think with fair play on at least this guy would have had to kick the fg.because thats sim. just me tho.i know i get the pts when i can and never would have fake punted with over 1 min left in the 4th up by 3 thats a big risk. thanks guys

I agree with you... But the way the rules are written it's technically okay. But it could also fall into the all encompassing Sportsmanship rule... lol

It was against me...
Id like to explain my self a bit..I went for 3, 4th downs inside Masters 30 yards line..All were 4th and inches. One of them was becasue i was not sure i could make a 47 yard FG. The other 2 times i was inside to 20 yard line..again 4th and inches. All 3 of these times i barely made it..his D was close to stopping it. In the 4th, under 1 min left..i had a 4th and inches at his 47 or 48..Being that he had almost stopped me 3 times, i did a fake punt..I got it and downed it to end game...I thought it was smart. Master didnt think so. I even offered to play a 1 minute game kicking off to him because he felt robbed. he declined.....It was a great game, even with the 3, 4th and inches going for it..I still kicked 3 FG's..showing I do kick them (way too much actually!)..I was also down in the 3rd for a bit!..game was too close for comfort!

RULE XIII
THE FOURTH DOWN RULE: You may go for it on 4th down anywhere on the field when it is 4th and inches. You may go for it when it is 4th down and 2 or less if you are in your opponent's territory. You may go for it at any time or anywhere in the 4th quarter inside of 3 minutes left in the game. If you are leading by no more than 10 points in the fourth quarter and it is 4th and inches, you can go for it in your opponent’s territory in order to maintain the drive and preserve the victory.
Fake punts are not to be considered as "going for it" as the offense is not calling a standard offensive play. It is the defenses responsiblity to be aware of the possiblity that the offense may call one.
I can see the frustration on the defenses part in this situation. But as Beast stated, it is within the rules as written. If I understand the situation correctly, it being 4th and inches, sportsmanship does not come into play here as one team is trying to preserve the win.
If need be, the administration will look into this further.

If need be, the administration will look into this further. i know its within the rules,i do feel it should be looked at tho,for future as if fair play was on 2 of those 4th downs he would have been required to kick. i never said he broke the rules i just think its not a good one as it helps guys who were stopped by good defense to go for it again on another play. the nfl they do go sometimes but it is rare that a team would go for it 4 times in one game let alone a fake punt with the game on the line. he was up by 3 or 6 pts and on my side,no way they would fake punt in the nfl thats what i was saying. so i did feel cheesed cause that wasnt a sim move to me although it broke no rules in the league. thanks for the feedbacks tho. no biggie i was just upset at the time and maybe my post will put some looking into the rule. ps i cant stand cone chasing either i just hope they take that out all together next yr. lol. gl with the rest of the season. to everyone. beast see u next week.rematch of former boss players

I'm not a fan of the cone chasers either, but it's common problem.
I wouldn't get your hope up about a change in the rules either. They specifically changed the rules this season to where you can go for it on inches if you're up in the 4th quarter which I think is a crock of sh!t.

unfortunately you cant please everyone....and most rules can be bent to a degree. The rules were changed after much discussion to what we thought was the best for the league.

I think it was just a bunch of unfortunate situations. It's not often that one team has so many 4th and VERY short (within 1 yard) opportunities. It's not like he was continually going for it on 4th and 2 or 4th and 3.
As for going for it on 4th and inches when up at the end of the game to preserve the victory, look at the Packers/Eagles game 2 years ago. The Packers had a GREAT offensive line and Ahman Green was FILTHY and they decided to PUNT, up by less than a TD against the Eagles with like 1-2 minutes to go. I thought that was a HORRIBLE call by the Packers at the time and they ended up losing the game as McNabb guided the Eagles down the field for the win - as many of us remember that 4th and 27 I think.
I agree with the rules here but just think that this game was one where sh!t just happened so that there were quite a few 4th and inches plays.

Going for it on 4th and inches save Pittsburg in the colts playoff game......I think it's totally realistic to preserve your lead to go for it on 4th and inches...Sad that QB sneak is hard to stop..but isn't that true life if you have a good O-Line..

not going for it 4 times in the game
