Seriously though,,,if we want to talk about, not necessarly a glitch, but just gameplay,,,what's up with the spinning technique? It's totally not real for a running back to spin straight out of the blocks or two or three times in a row just about every play. I'd vote for a "5 spins" per game rule... I just took over the Dolphins in a legaue Called XMPL,,,mostly younger dudes,,,the rules are set up to do away with glitches like this league,,,but just about everyone I've played so far spins the running back like crazy...get's me a few times,,if they do it all the time then U just blitz the cb's or contain the LB's...but in my opinon it is just not real Sim football..I've seen it in this league too,,,Hmmm..not to name names...well I won't name names or hints...but they prob. have the most rushing yards in the league to date.don't know..(Zappa doing the tomahawk chop).. ..

play action on 3d and 21 in madden is only for one thing.....to make the CB's bite. Its that play combined with the amount it is called, and the same route that is run off it....all combined again with all-pro. I can easily show anyone willing in a game.
This is no joke...stats support what i was saying, and odd to see where guys view this. All commishes/guys of power see it one way, and the onlt guys that see it different are not commishes....kinda caught me off guard with that.
we can agree to disagree..and move on. Id like to see it discussed further in the future with a more wide selection of owners giving input. I play a lot of game other than the SAPML..mostly online..and have seen it a lot. Im guessing some of the guys that dont have time for public games may not know what i am referring to, but it does exist.....even without the playaction glitch..i just dont understand it being called on 3rd and 21 unless it is know to have a higher percentage of being completed by the opponent. It must be know, or it whould not have been called there. MBC has a lot of owners in this league, and it has strict rules on the PA abuse..so they must see something...Id like to hear what Mike and some of those guys think.
food for thought. Again, Id love to show any commish the play in action in a scrimmage, or somehow log the footage to the computer.....Again, yes..I run 65% of time in my scouting report. But it is a HUGE selection of plays. Not one money play or abuse. There is a difference. When the play action is always strong side to slot WR or TE it gets old, lacks any skills, and is east room stuff. there is a time and place for PA. I thought we were all here for sim bal win or lose...but i see that rules are pretty open to interpertation..either way, i will not play that way, so my opponents have nothing to worry about.

Buldawg, as far as I can tell from every post you have made you are focusing on one play. If you want to seriously bring light to a possible issue that the leagues committee needs to discuss, than more information must be provided and questions need to be answered. Some questions have already been asked in this thread. 1) Was the same play run on 3rd down numerous times? ...stats support what i was saying, 2) What stats can you provide that back your statements besides you say that it is run in east rooms? 3) Did your opponent use running plays to set up the playaction? Was his play selection appropriate as far as being balanced? Run to pass. 4) At what point in time was the PA of 3rd and 21 used? (I.E. Last play of the game? First half? First quarter?Touchdown play? This information provides possible modivation for calling the play) MBC has a lot of owners in this league, and it has strict rules on the PA abuse..so they must see something...Id like to hear what Mike and some of those guys think. Not that it matters but I looked on the MBCMO`s website. 1) I did not see your name listed as a member unless you use a different name. 2) In their rules, I did not see ANY mention of any rule governing playaction. Unless of course it is an unspoken rule not listed on the webpage. 3) And yes, I would like any input that members of that league have. The only way to insure quality leagues and gameplay is to discuss possible issues respectfully. One league may have different experiences than others with issues. ****Bringing issues to light is always a good thing for leagues. Open, respectful discussions help. But one of the most important things that a member can do is provide as much accurate information as possible. This gives credence to the member as well as to the issue. Credibility is a members ally. Much like a court of law cases are built against members or in this case a possible rule change. If there is no evidence to substantiate the accussation, then any further discussion is terminated and the issue is shelved until happenstance requires the league to revisit the issue. I strongly suggest that if any member has a problem with another member, this topic, or any rule(s) possibly being broken during a game, please use the proper channels which is contacting the Commish, myself, or any member of the Rules Committee. PS. Checked out the MBCMO. Nice league guys.

And I have played Glad numerous times and many other owners in this league and I do not see any abuse on the play action what so ever.

I play in MBCMO and there are no rules about using play-action (or the abuse of play action). That being said, we did have a problem with people running play action anytime they wanted to pass. For example, 3rd and 14 and play action ... 3rd and 7 , play action, 3rd and 21 ... shotgun formation AND play-action. This is a hard "rule" to make or enforce and at first you may think it is not SIM. However if you look at Indy and Denver in the NFL and many times they will play action on any down and distance. And sometimes they will actually run the ball. The solution that many of us came up with was just to figure out how to defend the PA on any down and that should help (FYI, there are some creative things you can do). I know that Donnie from here does very well defending the play action on any down ... I bet ChuckDiesel has some stuff to add ... and yes, MBCMO is a really nice league as well with some forward thinking commish's.

Gladiator brings up a good point, there really is more information needed.
Anyhow,, Bulldawg,,,I'd play ya in a scrimmage and tape it if you want to show me how the "glitch" happens. I still don't think it's a glitch. A glitch is something that works everytime regardless of player skill levels. I think the PA depends on the awareness and skill levels of your cornerbacks, plus I would be calling a zone, cover, or man/zone coverage on third and long to ensure I don't get caught offguard. Not a glitch in my eyes if I can call a play to stop it.
Bull hit me up for scrimmage,,,if for nothing else...gives me more practice on the old Video editing stuff....

I still say in no way shape or form is this a glitch. I have already stated that in the NFL the Colt PA on 95% of their passes. Yes even when their in third and long.
Bring heat. Bring it from different places. Sack them a few times and they will stop I assure you.

zapp is right in defining what a true glitch is. i can see where the frustration is coming from bulldawg, but unless this type of play is being abused......the best advice i can give is to adjust on defense. i'm sure this topic will be discussed and possibly a league poll will be put up by one of the commishes asking if this is truely an issue that needs to be addressed in the rules of the SAPML.

Not an issue.
if you CB's fall for PA easilly, then back them off the WR's when u expect PA...if you dont expect PA, and the offense runs it anyway..then you have just been fooled, and the PA has served its purpose

Hey guys, so where are we at regarding the playaction issue?

Well, it seems that 98 % of the people who partcipated in the thread, feel that playaction is not a concern in the Sapml. And this is an opinion of general members as well as administration. Not onesided.
Also, the questions that I posted to Bulldawg in order to dig deeper into the discussion he started were never responded to.
Therefore the issue will be dropped.
As I have said numerous times, discussions are great but we must be objective to the situation. We all become victims to being narrow in our observations at times.
Making sure we have seen the bigger picture or having information that defends our position is important.

There are a lot of game issues though that hopefully will be addressed by the committee in the off-season discussions, some of which are discussed thoroughly in other "the game" threads with different viable viewpoints from all sides. Good luck.
