Biggest thing i have noticed, which is nice, the passing defense is alot more consistent. Couldnt count the number of times the safety would jump post routes down the middle. If a reciever did a come back route the nearest defender would cover him and jump in front of him. Running is a little more of a challenge. Seems like you really have to move around at the line to have a chance at a gain. If Rodgers is that fast i cant even imagine how fast Vick will be. Feels clean over all and seems alot faster overall.

Early thoughts on an early build: Agree about the pass defense, you certainly have to be on target, and the ACC of the DBs seem more relevant to the player. I was blasted the first two outings not even beaing able to score, but the last five games or so, I have eeked out some low-scoring wins; but I never score a lot of points in a game anyway. I found on offense that the RBs almost always break the first tackle, but being it's two pretty darn backs, that may be consistent with the demo. But when you are wrapped up by a DE and the RB 90% of the time trucks out, then that may be adjusted in the final product. Overall though, I like what they have done with the D. Seems you can play man with a little more confidence, but did still find a few times that the safety was completely out of the picture in relevance to the WR on deep throws. Of course, that actually happens in real life as well, so that may still be expected in Madden world as well. I expect the game to be tightened up [at times the game seemed a little herky-jerky] but overall I believe it is a forward step of EA's personnel changes to make a better product. One can hope! EDIT: The above impressions AM mode. Gonna try AP today.

Just tried AM. I might be crazy but i had a tougher time running the ball on all pro. I really liked the feel of AM. I am getting that football season feeling back. Kind of glad the lock out took away all that mini camp reporting. Now football is back in full force all at once.

Hmmmmm......observations. First of all, looks like Matthews and Olson are just standing there having a conversation. Man should be man, but that's over-done to me. Olson is good, but taking down Matthews that particular way? And SS Harris would never let Cutler get that far before making his move. Plus, if Cutler moves that fast, can you imagine what Vick is gonna be like. Hope EA makes some adj but I'm not for sure time allowed them to.

I am kind of hoping it was a glitch where he was actually blocking but it didnt show on the screen. I have only seen it once, so you may be right, but seemingly to be an EA animation, IMO, I haven't seen it before '12, we will probably see it on the 30th.

It appears the playbooks are the same as last year. I watched a game recorded at E3 {Bucs] and basically the same. Last year the Bucs had 18 formations. The best I could tell from the E3 playcalling, I saw 19 formations, and the plays from each were basically the same, just stuck "Bucs" in front of some plays, added one new one to the Gun. Except for that, didn't see much different, however, I haven't used their book for years. Custom playbooks?

Was looking some over last night. All the playbooks seem to be different to a point, especially the teams with new coaches. The 49ers pb i catching my attention already. Does anyone know about custom playbooks? Will you be able to pick plays to add to your playbook or add formations from other teams playbooks to make something you want?

FYI. Custom Playbooks: The #1 most requested feature by fans in recent years, allows you to build the ultimate game plan by modifying an existing playbook or creating your own by selecting up to 400 offensive or defensive plays from different playbooks. Integrate your custom playbook into a game plan for use with the improved GameFlow system, which executes an authentic, situational game plan for you.

Great info guys...been out all week for work and getting caught up.
So...based on what your saying PAC...you will be able to play online by "customizing" your playbook choosing from any plays from other playbooks?
