This year, I am finding more resistance by players in using League Daddy. Since EA has started to update chise rosters more, a lot of leagues seem to be embracing on-line franchise in various ways, from the "bare bones" on-line features to the "full" chise modes of using trades, FAs, caps, etc, using My League Manager for expanded chise. I resigned from the 2.2.0. this year after six years, because they went to the full franchise mode, which I am not a fan.
For the last three years, that league was a "hybrid" chise....no trades, no FAs, no caps, injuries off, etc. At the end of each season, we started over, trading teams, team draft, whatever. Worked very well. And since EA has started to update chise rosters more often, they often mirrored off line rosters.
Not saying you should venture into this, Aaron, but filling teams might be easier, not to mention the cost each year. If the teams are not full, the league could still start and move on with H to H and H to CPU games, or admin simply sims any games not completed. But I'm sure you know this already.
None of my contacts wanted to run in LD leagues, and finding that most are prone to AP than AM, more so this year than last year. 2.2.0. ran AP for the last three years and the ones I talked to didn't like the possibility of SAPML running AM this year, not to mention no interest for low-rated teams on AM, lol.
Any other way I can help, which wasn't any in this case, PM me.
Ron

Ron...appreciate the insight. It falls in line to what i was thinking. I still like the flexibility of LD, but it appears to be too hard to get others interested.
Our only options are maybe taking second teams or running a smaller non-32 team league. I am up for either. Would like to have the feedback from others to get a feel of the whole.

Since you asked, my first "druther" would be the chise route, but I understand that the $$$ you already laid down for this season does not need to be wasted. Of course, I would be happy to fire off a check of re-imbursal should you change your mind. Serious. My personal next option would be, at this point, narrow the league down to an even number of teams and do your past method of match-making and get this season going. At this point, taking two teams doesn't set too well for me because of other commitments. BTW, I am going to set up a chise site this weekend [I like to keep up with the EA's chise rosters. I will PM you with the PW should you want to drop by. P.S. A belated birthday greeting to the brighter and better looking side of your household, Valentine, [forgot her name....damn brain farts]. Saw the BD notice in the forum then......damn old age, lol. Linda said hi as well! Later....

I passed along the Birthdady wishes to Jess....she appreciated that.
I would be interested in your site.
Im not too worried about getting the money back...i have emailed the LD folks about 5 times with questions and help with things that arent working with no reply. I figure i can just do a BBB complaint and get the money back.
Can we do an online league via EA with less than 32 teams?

Open teams, CPU, that are scheduled any particular week are simmed when the week is advanced. It's H to H, H to CPU, CPU to CPU. Commish can sim any type. H versus CPU can play the game, sim the game or sim the game play by play, opting in and out at the player's option. I have found in the past that playing the CPU online is harder than playing a human. I have set up a SAPML site online. Check your PM. Join the site and I will make you the Commish so you can check your options. Change what you want.....you can always change it back. Oh, as for chise roster updates, this season, the routine will be the same....the current set will be viable till the end of season, the SB, then will be updated. Madden 13 chise rosters, so I've heard, will be updated more often with some EA promised chise additions and improvements they are currently working on.

Ron...when you get a chance to give me the league privilages i will check it out further. I just joined.
I see the roster is pre-week one...can that be updated in the chise as the new rosters are out each week?
Can you boot deadbeats without much trouble?
This looks cool so far...maybe im moving into the 21st century finally.

I see the roster is pre-week one...can that be updated in the chise as the new rosters are out each week? Answered below. Absolutely, Aaron...one click....gone!!! I made you the Commissioner when you first joined! Go have fun! Play a game....just end it before time runs out and it's like the game didn't happen, except there is a stat to show how many restarts were attempted. This is b/c EA servers sometime kick you off but they are more stable now, it seems. Two players get kicked, they just restart the game from the beginning if it's early in the game. You may have to adjust when the cutoff would be in the 2nd half, 4th qt, etc.....ahead by so much, etc. Answers to some of your PM questions: If two players can't get together [time could be delayed a day or two], then it's understood the game will be simmed when the Commish advances the week. BTW, you can set the time limit on a "week" as 3 days, 4 days, whatever. For me, it contains things in a package that controls users getting their games in, which I find Commissioners have a big problem with. Each week, Bill would open a week and state when it would close, i.e., usually a week one would start at 10pm eastern on a Sunday night and end at 10pm Thursday night...week two starting then and ending 10pm Sunday night. Two games per week. Went very well for three seasons. Anything else, I'm as close as the computer.

If you want to keep that site, do with it what you please. BTW, you can still set up the schedules here in the forum to keep tabs on who is participating and who is not. In the 220, a player not responding to his opponent within 24 hours of the deadline to advance, was removed from the site and his opponent granted the right to play the CPU, request a stand-in or just sim the game. No need to push a responding player to the deadline trying to get a game in before the advancement deadline. People got families, work, etc. Scheduling opponents was by any means, but it was a rule that the agreed day/time MUST be posted in the scheduling thread so the Commish was aware of who was doing what. Emergencies arise, of course, and adjustments were made. Sometimes, a "week" might run as planned and sometimes a "week" might be 4 days. Holidays were also taken into consideration as well. Hope everybody gets onboard. Less work and saves you money. I know the roster updates my not be the best deal, but at least the ratings are not at the merch of "Donny-the-Czar." But in Madden '13, that may not be the case. Ron Excuse any typos. ;D Need anything further, let me know.
