Because you've limited the defense even more than it already is... but I guess all I have to do is put one of my fastest players at FS and just run all over the field with him and that'll make up for it. ;D

Ok...so if its not that effective...then whats the big deal with banning it and maybe saving a couple of complaints? you're giving in to a few people complaining about something that shouldnt even be an issue... tonight I had an experience that tells me we're just going to see about 30 blitzes a game, between no d-line spread and 6 minute quarters. You're going to get your fair share of complaints no matter what you do.

But i am making this decision on what i have seen and been able to fool around with on my own. IMO the dline spread loop makes it too easy to get pressure...even with the slide option of the oline...because if you have your line block wide...that opens up blitzing lbs up the middle which you line wont pick up and gives you about 2 secs if that to get rid of the ball. But to use your argument that it doesnt make a difference and doesnt allow the defense to get alot of consistent pressure...then whats the issue. Why are you so bent on having it in there if it isnt that effective anyway.

I'm fine without it, i'm bent on argueing this because I think it's stupid to limit what the defense can do just because 2 or 3 people are all flustered over the fact that they might actually have to get rid of the ball fast against a good pass rush or not drop back 15 yards because the DE's might ACTUALLY get them. I also just have a habit of playing devil's advocate, so at least we had some good conversation out of it. lol

The league I run, we got rid of the d-line spread in madden 05. It turned to be a good thing. We had league members having gripes just like whats going on here, but in the long run it ended up being the right choose. I have even go emails and IM's last year from guys that were against changing the rule that now are glad it was changed. Give it time and I know im new to the league but with my exp. with my league I think you guys made the right decesion!

I just have 1 thing that shows that D-Line spread is something that should be banned...i am in 1 league, where it is allowed...in this past season that just ended...Patrick Kerney of ATL and Leonard Little of STL finished the season with 46 and 42 sacks (respectively)
that is just ridiculous and in NOOO way sim ball or even "simmish"
so that is why i believe it needs to be banned

By banning it, it releives many complaints. It is that simpled.

By banning it, it releives many complaints. It is that simpled. well just to keep the league staff on its toes, I'll be first in line to complain when guys are blitzing me 30 times a game to make up for not being able to get a pass rush with their defensive ends. when push comes to shove the only reason "the loop" is ever THAT affective in madden 2006 is because some people on offense refuse to adjust, whether it be the plays they call, bad habits(IE Dropping Back too far), throwing shorter routes, etc. I know the rule's not going to be changed, but it's not the right decision to me. The only people that have had gripes about this are the people that a) cant combat a good pass rush or b) are on the league staff and are sick of hearing from the people that cant combat a good pass rush, lol.

That is not true at GoGiants. This has been a complaint ever since we were able to do this move. Furthermore I personally have never played a game where someone blitzed 30 times. I personally blitz well under 5 times a game, and most other people on the high end will blitz 10-15 times a game. A little far fetch if you ask me about 30 times a game.
Spreading the D-line might help you get pressure, but what about the people that get pressure by not doing it, by not blitzing, your point is one sided. Most REAL NFL games have a team recording a sack 1-3 if any.

GoGiants is probably complaining about the 3-4 Defense. If you don't send anyone it's a 3 man rush unlike if you call the 4-3 with no blitz is a 4 man rush. When using the 3-4 unless you're totally playing zone you better send atleast 1 guy otherwise it's 5 blocking 3.
