I think the cone should be left on. We don't need guys rolling out to one sideline and throwing a bullet 50 yds down field across his body on the money to the WR. Let's try to keep it realistic and not arcadish. Just my $.02.

cone should be on. I personally hate it, but makes it more realistic. Manning should have a bigger cone then Alex Smith. Manning is just a better QB. Like Glad said if they were all the same there would be no difference in QBs.
Leave it on.

Like Glad said. If we axe the cone whats next? Yes Manning and Brady have huge cones thats reflects how good they are. The same goes for the highlight stick. It's going to work better for some RB"s than others.
I will again confirm I vote for leaving it ON.

On-Optional-Off.
Leave it on. Totally unrealistic to regress to the days without it. QBs look before leaping!

You have All-Pro settings choices of on, optional and off. Go to "gameplay settings," "custom game" for the choices.

I wouldnt mind going to all madden. Is there that much difference that I am not aware of?
Either way, we do not play ranked games in our league due to 6 minute quarters so there will be always the option of having this on.

I think you can turn the cone on under you personal settings and it will be there for unranked games.

Once you pick the "on" selection, gameplay for the onfiled QB cone will be the same as All-Madden and will remain set to "on" during online play. This is the only way the go for our sim-type of league.

I understand what you guys are coming from and I have no prb with the cone, I just think for a league member to have to work with diffrent size cones depending on who they have is not fair. I meen honestly with manning with cone on it really dosn't matter cause its like playing with the cone off as his is so big that all you have to do is press any button and its going to that reciever. That is the kinda thing i don't think is fair. I do agree with the arcadish type things you guys are explaing to an extent but as scarolinafan said about rolling to the sideline and throwing it across the field without the cone, i have tryed this without it and it dosnt even reach the receiver. So thats not correct at all. However to each its own. Just as in my league you have to listen to you league memebrs as thats what makes the league what it is and thats what i intend to do.

I think, Madc55 and Scarolinafan, you both may be right to a certain degree but for very different reasons. 1) Madc55, yes, if you have QB vision "on" and don't change the cone to the intended receiver, the ball will most likely be errant. I could not find any other instances when I could not get the ball to the reciever though. 2) However, if the QB vision is on "optional" or "off," then you can do as Scarolinafan stated, roll left and pass to that receiver 30 yards downfiled on the opposite side without changing the cone and most likely the reception could be caught. I tried, I believe, all the scenarios and #1 is the only one that I could find where the ball spittled out errantly. If I missed one, let me know. I played with Griese and Farve in Season 6 and cone size was very much different, however, getting the ball to the receiver was not a problem. (Catching it was, lol) The only difference I saw was that while being blitzed you don't have to worry so much throwing to a receiver without changing the cone. But then, with the advent of the cone, it has always been possible under blitz situations, to complete a hurried pass to flats, curls, drags, etc., without changing the cone. Also, with the cone on, precision passing helps those QBs with smaller cones. Even though it is only a slight fall off with the QB vision off, I would think that being on would very much be in favor of someone having a small QB cone, even though not as fruitfull as having a Farve or Manning. But not all real world team have a Farve or Manning either. I think the cone "on" hinders no one while the other two could be problematic, depending on who you ask. ;D

Offline in the settings menu.
I have not been online, but everything I have read indicates that the choice you make offline RE: the cone, is viable online as well. There may be a question as to playing a ranked game versus an unranked game regarding the cone, but I can't find it. According to Tiburon, that feature is supposed to be flexible with the user unless you are playing All-Madden, then is mandatory that it is "on."
