RULE XIX
GAME GLITZES: Sandman, glitch, FG/Punt Block LB Audible glitch is not accepted and any player knowingly using a PUBLIZIED game glitz faces possible league expulsion. It is your responsibility as a player to be aware of those particular aspects of the game. Should a player become aware of a “game glitch,” it is the responsibility of that player to bring it to the attention of the rules committee.
Just a reminder that this is a rule, not a guideline and it will be enforced. If you have discovered a glitch, whether it be offense or defense, and it has been publicly discussed on other forums, and you use it in this league, you are possibly risking yourself to expulsion from the league, no questions asked.
Madden has made the defense overly aggressive for their arcade buddies this year and we may have to adjust the playing field, as we did when the offense was "king," because some may have already found ways to exploit the offense. Should we receive complaints of this from other members, we will take it under advisement.
If you are using defensive techniques that have been public forum discussed and outlawed by other leagues, then you may be subject to this rule.
We have already had one complaint of this that is being investigated. That should be one too many.
You discover a "glitch" then it is your responsibility to let the league as a whole know of it, whether discovered by you or anyone else. That is why this rule was put in this year, to stop this very thing from happening.

Let me somewhat clarify the above: The complaint referenced in the above post was not made about a player breaking the SAPML Rules, the complaint was made about the way the game itself can be manipulated.
I included the Game Glitches rule to remind everyone that we should bring these things to the attention of the league when something is amiss in the game, not saying that this is the case here.
Thanks.

the way i see this years version of madden is that the defense on almost any team is overated....calling the same play on offense should not even be an issue anymore. with getting b-n-r with the defensive line spread out and doing that gAy swoop thing via playmaker on every passing situation is driving me insane. i just want to break this bleeping game.
let's face it, ea has made this years madden for the likes of cheesers. maybe they did this so people wouldn't have to use gamesharks. i know the urge is very tempting for me to do what i have explained above. i have done it and those that know how to do it have done it too...stop lying if you say no cause you are the only one buying it.
so if this kind of defense is acceptable, why not run the same play on offense. i mean i have found only a handful of effective plays to work against it and will be looking to keep labbing as i will be trying to find out more plays against this very effective dreamland defensive style. anyone who knows some plays/fomations/playbooks/stratedgy against it, spread the wealth and lab with me.

I agree that the defense is souped up, but there are ways to generate pressure just using simple line shifts and bump and run, because line shifts overload the OL just as effectively as using defensive playmakers. It's all a matter of preference on how you use a blitz, but if you're going to limit one style of blitz, you might as well limit EVERY style of blitz. I don't think it's really fair or prudent to limit game play in one area but allow it in other equally effective ways.

Yeah the D-line loop d doo is just stupid. It's so effective, but I guess they implemented it to stop from people dropping back so far. I finally figured out how to get protection, but I think I lost a lot of hair over it. Hackett, i can PM you some plays that have worked for me to counter this to see if you have the same.

To avoid the looping DL, you have to step up in the pocket and let the blockers engage the DL, then you can drop back and pass. These things are not unbeatable, people. All we need to do is keep each other informed and we'll be able to counter most of the crap out there.

The thing that bugs me is that the loop de doo seems to allow the DL to bullrush the O-Line A LOT more effectively. Maybe it's just my OL, but it seems that I give up a lot of sacks.

Browns OL is kinda bad, so it might be the OL. But yes, I agree. The loop is effective. That's why 90% of people use it online. But, the way I see it, both players can do it, so what's the issue? I think that if there is going to be a rule against it, we need to make a lot of new rules, because there is PLENTY out there to do with this game. We can either reduce it to a playcalling coach's battle, or a game we actually play. It's really up to the league and its members.

I write this to protect myself but also the league in general. I do not want to start an issue but I would like to perhaps make Sapml`ers look to themselves. I have encountered some league members who use the tactic of spreading the defensive line to swoop the ends in on the QB quite often. They also will use this in conjunction with the B-N-R. Or, players will use the B-N-R on 75% of their defensive plays. While these tactics may not have a rule governing them, in good conscience, members should not be using these to an unfair advantage.
Granted, winning is first and formost an everyone`s minds, but sportsmanship and clean play should be also.

Well, my argument is, if you can't use the defense the way it was designed, you are making it awfully easy to score at will. If you limit the way the defense plays, you're going to have to limit the way the offense plays, too.
I could come up with a whole list of revamped rules that would limit what people could do on offense and defense, and would simulate a "real" NFL game. But there is plenty you can do within the existing rules that circumvent what "fair play" is...

thanks for sharing Hey, you can condescend me all you want, but the truth is out there. The rules either need to be clarified or people need to stop complaining about them. There is no rule against looping the DL, no rule against bump and run all game, no rule against shifting defenses to overload the OL, no rule against defensive playmakers to set up blitzes, no rule against running unbumpable routes, no rule against juke or spin glitches, no rule against manually rushing a DE. Basically, the rules are WIDE OPEN for this type of play abuse, and the people complaining are some of the people who abuse these left out rules! Basically, people are only complaining when they lose games. Heck, I complained when I got bump and run blitzed all game. Why? Because I got shut out. Was the complaint valid? Yes! Would I have complained if I won? Probably not. The rules need to be re-written, not selectively enforced. I used to complain about this game all the time, but then I started to understand it better. And I started to see that the "real NFL" excuse wasn't flying anymore, not when teams were blitzing every down and running trick plays every week. But I joined a league to have structure. I feel like this league has that, it just needs to be revamped so that EVERY player understands and follows the rules to a T.

Actually we cannot control the D line manually.
