Hey, if I can throw the route Underdogg spoke of, anybody should be able to. ;D Matter of fact, I think I remember PFeels throwing a "corner route" against me in the Lite league. I'm gonna protest to the Commish. Seriously. Wait, I think I am the Commish there. I can't protest to myself. ;D ;D

the corner route is not the problem, the abuse of using it is.....depending on it on every critical situation or 3rd and long should buy you a one way ticket out of this league. get real, do you expect to score every time you have the ball or even expect to win every one of your games? if so, why not just stay in the east rooms to improve your online record? hell we dont even play ranked games for league play. your not gaining respect from fellow league members by doing it....so that pretty much makes you an ashole right? mix your playcalling up, give your opponent time to set his defense and so on and so on. it all falls under sportsmanship and showing respect which is the BIGGEST issue in the sapml without a doubt.

Hackett, ease up man, no sense calling somebody expressing an opinion here an (expletive). The Commish asked for opinions and that is what is expressed here.

I think Underdogg has a pretty good handle on what the so-called corner route is in reality. But I still do not think it is an AI problem, per se. It very well could be the operator. It is not IMO, every play that results in a pass catcher ending up in the corner. That is a stretch. Next we will debating whether to curtail all the out routes that somebody can't cover, or the RB out of the backfield that somebody can't cover. Where does it end? Hoewever, I do agree that plays must be mixed up and agree with Tony that sim style of football in the league is missing in action by A FEW players. But in the past that has taken care of itself because the bad apples always float to the top. The Commish and staff do a very good job and are very concientious when it comes to league members adjudication. Rendering quick decision-making without a lot of league input would be amiss.

Ummm...what's a corner route. No, I'm not kidding. Your as dumb as me ... I knew I liked something about you ... Corner Rt is when the receiver runs straight up and then breaks at an angle (still going forward) towards the side lines

I'm just a person who's tired of all the BS, why can't we just enjoy each others company and our video game hobby ... This reminds me of the Rock bands I've put together, they always end up in a break-up, someone doesn't like someone, yada, yada, yada ...you would think everybody would enjoy playing music ... but then you would think playing a football video game wouldn't be so much a hassle ... were did i put my xannox ... lol

corner routes ,corner routes, corner routes........
Gentlemen, I feel like we are on a witch hunt. Corner routes, or shall I say the abuse of corner routes is subjective at best. Any one can look at my stats and see that I pass to at least 5 different receivers. I`ve passed to the RB`s out of the backfield, to my TE`s and yes, to my WR`s on a corner route. One might even say I mix my plays up but if the couple corner routes I do are successful, especially for big gains or a TD, you know that is all the opponent is gonna remember.
Some good members are getting accused of being "cheese players" for something that they may not be guilty of. I could be one of those people for all I know.
It is a defendable route. There have been posts by some members who have done it. And by no means does running a corner route mean that it is a "money play". I`ve thrown INT`s on corner routes so it is not the guarrantee that many make it out to be.
Heck I`ve played against some "so called" str8 players who run pass patterns that causes the CB`s to be picked like in basketball. Their WR is open by 10 yds in a man coverage. That`s worse than a corner route to me.
To address some who say that the QB roll out, throw to the slot WR on a corner route is gold. I have that play specifically in my playbook. It is a playaction pass play. I`ve run it. I have been successful 30% of the time. If it was gold I would have a heck of a better record than 2-10. If someone is running the play on me the first thing to do, take control on the DE and follow the QB. Corner routes take time to develope. Anybody thought about blites? DE contain? double teams? Hey, how about manually controlling the safety to follow the slot guy?
I don`t mean to make fun of anybody or their opinion but limiting certain plays or eliminating them all together is not the answer.
All to often the only time a member is heard from is when they feel they were taken advantage of. If they won, all is fine. If they lose, there was a reason. I have sai it before and I will say it again, if members were more pro-active, these issues and many more would weed themselves out. Like PTR said, the bad apples will rise to the top. After a member plays a game, win or lose, evaluate your opponent realistically. It doesn`t have to be on the board or in a scouting report. Just a note to one of the commishes or rules committee.
ex. Hey guys I just played Pfeels and he really didn`t mix his plays up too much. On third and long he loves his corner routes. Just keep him in check for future games. Thx.
Easy huh?
